On January 18, 2022, Microsoft announced it has aquired Activation Blizzard for $68.7 Billion dollars. In a released statement, Microsoft says it wants to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone, across every device.
Microsoft will aquire Blizzard for $95 per share, in an all cash transaction valued at $68.7 billion, including their net cash. After the transaction is finalized, Microsoft will become the third largest gaming company in the world.
Bobby Kotick will continue as CEO for Activation Blizzard. The team will report to Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming.
